年届八十的克鲁格夫人（Monica Bleibtreu）有极深的钢琴造诣，因为藏有不为人知的青春秘密，她六十年来如一日地在一所女囚监狱教授钢琴，不在乎有无薪水，也不在乎学生的多寡。费劲周折将一架崭新的钢琴搬到监狱后，她的钢琴课却因一名学生的自杀面临被终结的危险。
