二战末期，荷兰的犹太姑娘雷切尔（卡里斯·范·侯登 Carice van Houten 饰）和她家人刚刚逃过死神关口，来不及喘息又遭到德国军船的扫射，只幸存下雷切尔一人。躲避在暗处的雷切尔把叛徒的样子牢牢记在心上，她的一生都为寻找这个人而孤注一掷。
