The story takes us back to 1889, in the wake of primary school teacher Louise Violet who is sent to a village in the French countryside to enforce Republic schooling (which is free, compulsory and secular). It’s a mission which secures her unpopularity, among children and parents alike…。以杂志编辑部为舞台，讲述四十岁出头的编辑长相乐（大东骏介饰），因过于追求自我而被同事疏远，唯一陪伴他的只有爱犬柴犬。走投无路之际，他突发奇想创办“柴犬专门杂志”。然而聚集而来的却是一群怪咖——包括怕狗的编辑石森（饭丰万理江饰）。在混乱中，狗狗以温柔目光化解隔阂，人与人、人与犬之间也渐渐建立起羁绊，是一部描绘令和时代人际关系与治愈之力的温暖群像剧。。
